POPSPelosi confronted at book signing Madam Speaker was so flustered by our efforts that she barely made a cogent remark for her whole "Know Your Power" talk. Our peaceful action had impact. The truth is a powerful tool. But if only our actions weren't necessary. If only, as Jodie Evans suggested, Madam Speaker would do her job! Saddest of all is the contrast of who Pelosi once was to who she his now. For a woman who was once at the cutting edge of social progressivism, Nancy Pelosi has lost her way. She has strayed from her former social consciousness into the malaise of power. A sorry state for a woman who 32 years ago was a pivotal player in the 1976 Presidential campaign of radically progressive California Governor, Jerry Brown.

POPSMore of the Same, Packaged as Change Barack Obama and Afghanistan Try reading the article to see how insane the Democrats really are (not to mention Replundercans)...More war, more death, more billions wasted....When will they learn that unless they nuke Afghanistan (God forbid but they might!) there is no way to win a war in that rugged (both terrain and people) country. What are they gonna do with all the poppies grown for heroin...are we gonna finance a complete re-planting of hemp or something? Jeebus, this insanity will never stop!

POPSThou art that--Alan Watts (thanks to Cathy E. in LJ...Watts continues: If you go out at night and look at the stars you will realize that they are millions and millions and billions of miles away - vast configurations out in space! You can lie back and look at that and say, "Whew! Surely I hardly matter. I am just a tiny little peek-a-boo on this weird spot of dust called Earth, and all that out there was going on billions of years before I was born, and will still go on billions of years after I die." Nothing may seem stranger to you than that - more different than you. But there comes a point when you will say, "Why, that's me!" And when you know that, you never die."

POPSNo Justice with Military Commissions Act In 1873 the Kiowa War Leader, MoManTee surrendered to the Army at Fort Sill, (OK territory). He was promptly put into a two foot tall crawl space under the Commanding Officers Office where he was taunted and starved and taken out only for torture. When he was “visited” by officials he was taken out, cleaned up and dress out in “full regalia” only to be returned to the crawl space after the ‘visitors’ left. It was later reported that he “starved himself to death in protest to his being imprisoned”—–

POPS"President Bush, Will You Please Shut Up Your Oily Mouth?"
The neoconned Bush Regime and the Israeli-occupied American media are heading the innocent world toward nuclear war. Back in the Reagan years the National Endowment for Democracy was created as a cold war tool. Today the NED is a neocon-controlled agent for US world hegemony. Its main function is to pour US money and election-rigging into former constituent parts of the Soviet Union in order to ring Russia with American puppet states. The neoconservative Bush Regime used the NED to intervene in Ukrainian and Georgian internal affairs in keeping with the neoconservative plan to establish US-friendly and Russia-hostile political regimes in these two former constituent parts of Russia and the Soviet Union. The NED was also used to dismember the former Yugoslavia with its interventions in Slovakia, Serbia, and Montenegro. Allen Weinstein, who helped draft the legislation establishing NED, told the Washington Post in 1991 that much of what the NED does “today was done covertly 2

POPS The Great Corporate Tax Heist Not surprisingly, the income collected from corporations has been declining as a percentage of gross domestic product, with the burden transferred to your income and payroll taxes. According to a study by the Treasury Department, from 2000-2006, an average of 2.2 percent of GDP was collected in corporate taxes. This compares to an average of 3.4 percent in other industrial countries. The nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office projects that, under current law, corporate revenues will decline to 1.9 percent of GDP by 2017. But the GAO study confirms what we already knew: Whatever the nominal tax rate, U.S. corporations pay an effective rate among the lowest in the industrial world.

POPSThe 9/11 Solution - RESTORED We find most of the videos we post to Brasscheck TV, but occasionally we find the time to make one. This video has an interesting history. Google took it down after three days and over 17,000 views. YouTube blocked us from posting it altogether. Someone copied it while it was up on Google and posted it to YouTube Canada where it became the most discussed video of all time in the "News and Politics" category with over 500,000 views. But now it seems to have been entirely scrubbed from YouTube Canada. Anyhow, somehow we have it back up on Google Video. Watch it while you can. Somebody really doesn't like this one

POPSObama's Hillbilly Half-Brother Threatening To Derail Campaig Since Cooter's emergence on the national scene, the Obama campaign has downplayed the brothers' relationship. A statement issued last week by Obama's top adviser, David Axelrod, claimed that the two lived together only for a brief period in 1981, shortly before Barack left to attend Columbia University and Cooter had to drop out of chicken-killing school because an air conditioner fell on his head. "I thought we would be able to escape controversy by leaving the country for a week and visiting Iraq and Europe," an unnamed source in the Obama camp told reporters. "Little did we know that Cooter would command just as much attention back home by getting drunk with the Russian ambassador, lighting off fireworks, and crashing Obama's campaign limo into a creek in the Ozark Mountains."
